# Commit types

The built-in types, in the order of the selection list. Limit them with `availableCommitTypes`, change one with `baseCommitTypes`, add your own with `addCustomCommitTypes` (see [Configuration](/guide/configuration#fewer-types-changed-types-new-types)).
